Construction Project Manager – Public Works Buildings & Park Facilities | $105,000-$145,000/yr

Location: Troy/Tipp City, Ohio – Serving the Miami Valley & Greater Dayton Area

We are growing and seeking an experienced Building Construction Project Manager specializing in public works and park/recreation facilities construction to add to our team. You’ll own all building-related scopes on our civil projects throughout Dayton, Ohio and the surrounding areas — including park shelters, restroom buildings, concession stands, amphitheaters, maintenance facilities, picnic pavilions, and similar public-use structures.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with our estimating team to selectively bid public projects in the Greater Dayton / Miami Valley markets, with primary focus on the building components.

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs, prepare accurate estimates, solicit and level subcontractor bids, and help submit winning proposals for building scopes (concrete, masonry, structural steel, pre-engineered metal buildings, carpentry, roofing, MEP coordination, finishes, etc.).

  • Handle contract execution, submittals, permits, schedules, and pre-con activities for the building portion of each project.

  • Lead on-site execution alongside our Civil Project Managers: direct self-perform crews and subcontractors, serve as primary owner/architect and internal contact for building items, manage RFIs, change orders, quality control, safety, and schedule.

  • Partner with our Project Managers and Estimators on monthly billing, subcontractor payments, cost control, and final closeout for all building work.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of combined field and office experience in commercial and/or public building construction.

  • Proven track record successfully estimating and managing public works and/or design-build building projects in Ohio.

  • Strong background self-performing concrete/carpentry/general trades and coordinating multiple subcontractors.

  • Excellent print reading, quantity take-off, and cost-control skills.

  • Proficiency with construction software is a plus (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, HCSS, Microsoft Project a plus)

  • Basic computer skills: email, printers, PDF editor, Microsoft Excel, etc.

  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills with a genuine care for people — crew members, subcontractors, and owners alike.

  • Ability to work cohesively with our team while independently owning your scope.
